selling a bike

when you sell a bike do you let them test ride it ?
Should you check they have insurance ?

I'm thinking that if they ride it and come off your the one to have to pay repairs and I know your responsible for checking they have insurance !

If they want a test ride they give you the full cash asking price, nothing else, no cash, no ride, people HAVE been had this way many a time with, oh i'll leave x/y/z and there never seen again.. they damage it they buy it, make that very clear.

As for insureance, i think its technicaly up to you to check (you can't knowingly allow an uninsured rider use it) but short of them bringing the certificate its hard to say..

Make sure to tell them they will need to leave the full cash ammount if they want to take it even arround the corner

yea, ill your got cash deposit then i would let a test ride, though make sure its local and no where with cameras etc as this could make problems

they only need a short ride to check for major problems IMO, though im sure there are problems that could only be shown with a long ride but this is a bit excessive to let them of a ride 20+miles
