I didn't want to clutter up the spill counter with this, so I've pulled it out here. Palmer posted something, and it just doesn't work for me (nothing personal at all Palmer, it just got me thinking, 's all).

I was reading the same posts, and thinking more along the lines of..... 'and most of them because people failed to anticipate or avoid cars pulling out'.
Not to have a go at the unfortunate fuckers who got nailed. Shit happens, but isn't your ass your responsibility?
It's happened to me too, I'm not claiming to be either sensible or shit hot, but I've always seen it as my fault (I might not have always mentioned that to my insurers though ). Yup, the silly Bitch might have changed lanes without indicating, while talking on Her phone with one hand and probably flicking her bean with the other, but I should have seen that there was a gap in the lane that someone might go for, and been ready........... Sure the fucking halfwit U-turned into a layby, but I should have been aware that there was a layby there and that they are a magnet for twats doing ill advised eyes-closed U-turns.
When I was training for my test, the Guy who ran the school spoke to us on this matter, and his words have stuck with me for the past 17 years. He said 'It won't matter to you how 'in the right' you were when you've got no fucking legs'.
So where does ultimate responsibility lie? Does the fact that someone did something stupid/selfish/dangerous, exonerate you from blame, or given that you stand to lose the most, is it all down to you in the end?
Safe journey People. ____________________ I was only doing what it said on my licence officer....

You are responsible and accountable for your actions or omissions and there lies the problem, most people will always try and point the finger of blame somewhere else no matter how absurb.
If you are not responsible for your actions, then who is?
If people were just to think and use some common sense then I'm positive that the number of accidents would decrease. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

I notice these threads appearing often recently.
Probably cause everybody needs to blame someone else.
An example I found was "chalky143" and his accident involving the unused traffic island in the middle of the road.
Naturally when I saw the thread title I did actually think "it was gonna happen sooner or later." What with the threads asking if you can wheelie a restricted Bandit and if it is faster than a ZXR400 or a bike of that nature. With that sort of attitude you can expect as a spectator that the person will become a cropper.
Likewise with people have many crashes, 5% they genuinely are unlucky, 95% chance they generally need to look at their own riding and try and improve, however with this constant blaming of other people they are overlooking their own ability. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. i was hit by a car pulling out on me. there was little i could of done to avoid an accident of somekind. if i slowed i would of hit him, if i swearved i would of either hit him,a tree, a dike.
from my point of view, and from what ive seen/been told. more than half the time its the person who is pulling out who is at fault, be they car, truck or even another bike.
although i kind of agree, every now and then i see a thread and think .
btw its nice to know i provoke people to think about things, and not just get angry at how much of a c*nt i am |

If i hadnt suspected that dozy bint was going to pull out i would have went into her car and not just ditched the bike. Never avoided the accident completely, but it avoided a hospital stay. Nomatter how good you are, you cant see into the future. ____________________ Will work for petrol
