 Posted: 07:48 - 11 Jan 2007 Post subject: I Have a SCSI Drive - Can I Use a SATA or IDE Aswell? |
 |
|
I currently have a SCSI drive (internal) and want to add another hard drive as a slave. I was having a look online at SCSI drives but they all seem fucking expensive.
SATA and IDE drives are much cheaper. What I want to know is will I be able to plug in a SATA or IDE drive into my existing system? Or will the existing cables not fit?
Cheers. |

Thanks for the replies guys!
The mobo is an Asus A7V133. (It is an old computer! )
I have dug out the manual for the motherboard and checked the component diagram. It says that the hard drive connectors are "2 IDE connectors (UltraDMA/100/RAID 0 Support)".
So I guess an IDE drive will work with the motherboard.
