Gutted for you mate
Although you should watch out for manhole covers no matter where you are. doing 25 around a corner and having the rear end slide out on one is a real eye opener.
As its a bandit you should be able to get hold of parts quite easily. Make sure that the frame is ok first. The engine shouldn't be too bad, hopefully its just the covers that need replacing.
Have a look at what you need parts wise and try here first
https://www.bike-breakers.info/, getting parts from bike breakers can save you a lot of money. Check how much things are brand new first. |

p.s. anyone got any sugestion on what i should check. |
Doubt there is any internal damage at all mate, you'll jsut have to replace the engine casing with an undamaged one which shouldn't cost a lot at all, second hand.
Happens on all bandits that go down. Get some engine bars to prevent it happening again. |

Hi
Other than the silencer suspect the bits you have damaged should be cheap. The covers are often fairly cheap, although I am surprised how cheap that one is from the post a bit above. Bar end will be cheap. New bars (probably bent the originals) should be cheap (or get some from someone who has decided to fit Renthals). Can will be some hideous cost. Mirror will cost about £40 at a guess.
All the best

Every bandit has a scuff on that bit. It's character adding.
This is a good excuse to buy a race can. Beware of bandit 600 crash bungs, they're the ugliest feckers EVER.
And more expensive than most too.

(crappy phone camera picture alert! (You can also make out my scuff :B))

i use shell advance VSX in my 1999 bandit and it gets done every 2k miles religiously (it has 11k miles on now) change the plugs every 4k and a full service (including valve clearences) every 6k miles, yeah over the top i know but prevention is cheaper than the cure
(and im a apprentice mechanic so i get parts for next to fuck all but oil + filters ARE NOT expensive) ____________________ Soo close to buying a 748 Biposto
