 |
|
I took my exhaust off to cut the blank tube off and crimp it. Anyway, I crimped it but it got a bit f**cked. It flattened the tube in the middle, with holes at both sides, so I hammered it over to one side.

Anyway, I need it to on Monday, so how much will it affect the performance of it with a hole that size? (2 stroke btw)
It should be rideable right and not cause any permanent damage?
Any recommendations on what I should do?
Tried all the garages but they either aren't open on a Sunday or don't weld. |

As said it really does need welding properly before riding but given that tomorrow is sunday and a welder will be hard to come by if you can get to halfords then they also sell 'exhaust wrap' for cars which consists of a very thin but strong piece of metal and two beefy jubilee clips. It's about 8.00.Just wrap it round the hole until you have used it all and stick a jubilee at each end.
Not the best of things but it will make the best of a bad job until you can get it welded ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:

No luck with anyone
Had to bodge it for now with some Halfords exhaust bandages for now.
Anyway its a lot louder than it was before, is this because it may not be on the engine right or because theres a piece missinbg with only a bandage covering it? |

Never mind, find out what it was. Bandage disintegrated, piece of crap. Worth a try though.
Guess I'll just have to be a little late tomorrow eh while I get it welded |

A double layer of coke can steel and exhaust putty in between held on with two tightly fastened hose/jubilee clips would do as a patch (Done many a time on cars and bikes) and may last a few weeks (Last car bodge lasted 6 months ) but it'll probably be good for a week or so, enough time to get it booked in for welding or another exhaust (for preference).
