From recent threads and further insights into peoples BCF psyche, its not an unfair assumption that there are some strange (if not interesting) people on here.

So, what strange habits do you have?

Arrow I tend to put my right boot on first (best foot forward maybe Laughing)
Arrow I tend to bounce up and down on the seat a little before turning the key ( I have no idea why Eh?), come to think of it, I do this whilst waiting at lights too Confused

The strangest

Arrow Humming the Simpsons or Indiana Jones' theme whilst filtering through traffic Embarassed

I just lean on my right arm when I hang out of bed and type, and it goes numb.

I do the bouncing thing too, pillions don't like it (especially when you're moving).

I check if my pocets are closed every ten minutes.
When I find speed limit road paint"50", I go through between 5 and 0 without touching them, and I'm pleased with it.
When I find pylons on motorway, I feel like doing slalom.
When I find a rideout group, I often run behind the group as if I'm a group member.

I have a few strange habbits

Arrow I constantly shout/ hurl abuse at car drivers, in my lid, so no one can really hear but still makes me feel better.
Arrow Nearly allways whistle the italian job soundtrack when riding through town/filtering
Arrow Sometimes talk to myself Neutral as in "ahh shiiiit i've gone to fast into here, bolloooocks im not going to make this, Haha wanker in you'r corsa you look a twat!" etc etc
Arrow If im on a nice ride around the countryside, i shout moo at the cows and bah at the sheep

well thats most of my odd things, there's others i can't remember, i must do them subconciously Laughing

All these are good things to do (except sniffing your arse that is).
You are on a bike and are part of your suroundings rather than isolated in a box of a car.
The weather affects you, the cows affect you everything affects you.
All of your senses are stimulated on a bike, react to the stimuli.

The worst thing is riding through the country and that insanely strong smell of shit brings tears to your eyes. It makes me get the fook out of there.

OK, this is the wierdest one... for some totally bizarre reason, when riding my bike I start singing 'Goldfinger'. I have no idea why but that song just keeps coming into my head... and other various Shirley Bassey tracks. I need help!

I ride a lot of lanes with no number or letter in the Welsh Borders. In the winter when all the animals are in the farms rather than the fields a lot of poo gets on the roads. I have returned from a good day out plastered in shit.

I tend to talk myself thru my riding too. Just a habit (a good habit I guess) that I was taught during DAS... Check your speed, change gear, get in position for this next turn, check for manhole covrs, any surface water or diesel?....

My OH asked me the other day if I get bored on the bike when I haven't got any music to listen to (she's constantly got the radio blasting in the car)...
She was a bit confused when I said "I never get bored, I'm usually too busy!" - I guess she still doesn't understand how much more involved you get when riding a bike instead of driving a cage.

It probably makes a difference that I haven't been riding for very long, and I'm still not doing too much of my riding subconsciously yet.

...and I'm also another one that tends to check my pockets regularly - usually AFTER I've just put my gloves on Rolling Eyes

And now Im downloading shirley bassey tracks to listen to on my way to work tomorrow-damn you! Evil or Very Mad

As for habits, I stand up to see over cars at a certain point on my commute to be sure its OK to overtake. Even when its dark I do this-even though I'd see oncoming headlights.

Another one is squeaking to myself-if I think something bad is going to happen Ill squeak. I did it last week when I took my mom pillion down my nans. Car was approaching a junction I went squeak-squeak, mom goes wtf, I go squeak-car-squeak. Laughing
