Hi all,

Just had a new clutch cable fitted and I'm not too sure if it has been fitted correctly. It just seems to let me release the clutch lever a lot longer than before to 'catch' and the power kicks in. Ihave to release the clutch lever almost al the way to the end til it kicks in. Does this sound ok or can I tighten it some how?

Cheers for helping an amateur!!!!

There will be a way of adjusting it Smile

On my old CBR600 there is a thumb-wheel adjuster next to the lever and if that fails, I can also adjust it where it mounts on the clutch cover.

What bike is it?

Are you sure its not just because the old one was adjusted to its max, and seeing as this is new its on the first stage of its adjustment, so doesn't need to be brought in as far to engage the clutch?

That makes more sense to be honest as I don't need to bring the lever in nearly as much to engage the clutch.

Should I just leave it for now?

No just adjust it to how you want. There should be some thumb wheel adjusters on your lever like these:

And probably some nuts on top of the clutch

Which can be used to adjust the biting point.
