I managed to get out to play for a couple of hours this afternoon for the first time in a couple of weeks.
Tell you what I noticed though, even though it was only my second time out on the Zephyr and I'm going to use that as an excuse it took me a good while to get "warmed up" and get properly into the ride and the bike.
I had a couple of wobbly moments at first, including most embarrassingly stalling it once as I went to pull away from a set of traffic lights which meant I held off from filtering to the front of the queue at the next few.......
I noticed the same thing last time I was out but put it down to it being the first "proper" ride on a different bike with different power delivery, riding position, clutch, brakes etc.
I know a lot of you ride regularly so it's probably not something you've experienced but some of you must be fair-weather riders like me and it would make me feel much better if you were to tell me that it's not just me and you too feel like you've forgotten how to ride when you get back on after a bit of a break. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

I went out on the RD today....did about 20 miles..just to warm it up and check for any probs since it's top end rebuild. Wasn't really going at it but was nowhere near as fluid as I would be during the "season".....the greasy sheen on the roads doesn't help either. On the plus side I got a chance to make sure there are no oil leaks and also took it upto the ton on the dual carriageway so I could pull the exhaust headers and check plugs / pistons.
Not loving big roundabouts at all this time of year though, most of them round here look like the surface has been lacquered ____________________ 18:54:48 Rob Fzs: jews don't give away stuff for free
