Just took mine off, didnt relise the state of them.
Hour of hard rubbing gets them to a resonble state.
What is the law with mirrors on bikes? Do I really need them, bike looks alot better without.

You dont have to have them, but its so easy to just have a quick flick of the eyes to see behind you rather than a shoulder check every few yards. You ride forwards so you should be looking forward not over your shoulder all the times, hence the mirrors in the first place.

I've done it on a few occassions, not keen but I'd imagine that you'd get used to it.

Too many cozzers round here to catch you out by following you when speeding Wink

Any mirrors should fit as long as the screw diameter is the same.

You can also get some end of bar mirrors that give it that little something else, like these:

I thought Bandit S mirrors bolted on to the fairing, not the handlebars - so the arm lengths will be wrong even if the mounting points are somehow compatible.

I only have one wing mirror and only a back left indicator.

Some twat at college decided for the hell of it to break my right wing mirror and my right back indicator.

Tbh I found that without the right wing mirror I've done more lifesavers. Before I pretty much used to do none. So in a way it helped me be more cautious. But I would like it back.

Ordered a new right indicator and still waiting delivery. Don't like indicating with my arm. But I only indicate with my arm when there is a car behind me as I do have a front indicator.

Never liked round wing mirrors. Always thought they looked a bit silly. But that's my opinion.

I've taken the mirrors off my bike, they really made it look poo, i might get some of the supermoto/streetfighter mirrors that come out of the end of the bar though, they look pretty good.

Can you lot ride without mirrors then? Shocked I hate not being able to see what is going on behind me, can't imagine trying to ride without them as surely you need to do a full turn-and-look-behind rather than just a quick shoulder check when you are wanting to make a move?

I did 7000 miles last year with no mirrors. Lots of lifesavers though. You need to be REALLY aware of your surroundings and I wouldn't reccomend it to a novice rider.

What about getting some shorter-stalk aftermarket mirrors to replace them with Louise?

I would advise people to keep mirrors on their bike.

At roundabouts and on multiple lane roads it could mean the difference between making a safe manouvere and getting splattered.

Having to do a few shoulder checks whilst approaching and on a roundabout instead of the check then mirrors is very dangerous imo as it will take you longer to react to anything that may happen infront of you.

If you do high speed motorway stuff then when pulling into the outside lane having a mirror is also advisable, shoulder checks at this speed are physically demanding if you need to do them constantly, and also there's more chance of you not seeing something coming up behind at high speed. Ridden without mirrors for a while now, not an impossible task, just that riding with them is alot easier and safer.

There isnt much point in mirrors over 6k on my bike, every xenon type bulb looks like flashing blue lights Laughing

I would hate to not have mirrors, even if they do look like you're in a blender.

Never ride with mirrors, always prefer to turn my head/body when I have too.

Too many vibrations on the mirrors I had anyway.

I always keep my mirrors on my bikes, I think that they are quite a fundamental safety feature and it just doesn't seem right when they are not there. Saying that though I ride an R6 and essentially my mirrors give me a good view of my own elbows too. To actually see what is behind you it is necessary to move your arm a little to get a decent view. Very Happy
