Well basically i have been to court recently and need to take my bike test again. I had my license reduced to provisional and have eight points on it Shocked The dilemna is i dont have any money, and as a few of you are aware the sun has got its hat on recently Cool
I also have a car bmw 3series three litre (e46 shape) which I am torn between selling... i dont know what to do! I really want to be legal on the!bike again ITS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL! Do i sell the motor, or bide time to raise money for the bike. plus insurance is going to be a killer, which the sale of the car would cover. Help!!

You might be slated on here for asking members to make a decision in your life. Take no notice.

My advice is, your not dieing of anything, you’ve got time.
Do the car thing for a bit and sort yourself out financially.

If i remember you have a R1 special edition of some sort, why not just downgrade that to slightly older (but still nice) like a R6 or something.

TBH being youngish, with that many points on your license and had the license revoked is going to bum your insurance, esp on such a nice bike. I'm dreading my quote with 0NCB and a fault claim, but i think you bet me!!

It all depends on how much the car and your bike mean, some poeple wouldn't be that fussed (OK maybe a little sad) selling the R1 for something smaller and some couldn't bring them self to do it.

I think the first step is get insurance quotes, that will be the decider of what to do IMO, as i have a feeling they are going to be VERY high.

what Andy said, get a few quotes and go from there, you are the only one who can decide anything as we have no knowledge of recent events and the circumstances, we have no real need to know but it may be easier to give advice if the facts are on hand(and some of us are nosy Laughing ) ITS UP TO YOU, have a think and do what you think is best

Well at the moment you aren't legal on either of them are you?

So they're both just gathering dust/rust wherever you are keeping them...........

Personally I'd flog the both of them, re-do my test in whatever way I thought would be easiest (probably bike) to get my licence back then see how much I had left and take it from there.

If it came to a choice between a decent bike and a shit car or a decent car and a shit bike I'd go for the first option every time. Thumbs Up
