My 400 Bandit is going in for its MOT on Saturday, its got a race can on it so i thought it would be a good idea to go and see my mechanic today. He told me to grind off the "for race use only" which is stamped into the end can and put in some baffles.
Heres the rules though, if i put the baffles in to reduce the noise, but leave the wording stamped on then it will fail automatically, grind the writing off and it will pass
Anyway, took it for a spin with the baffles in and even though it was much quieter, they dont seem to affect performance too much around town.
I might even leave them in and save my ears. |

I have my mot tomoro. Im thinking of wedging wire wool down it as apparently that works for a good few hours before it gets blow out.
Visions of some mechanic picking it out of his face (or some following cager ).
But i still have a cracked screen which worries me. Like severely cracked and jagged.
Long story short subframe bent in a crash, pushing in fairing if mirror is on which catches choke. So ive removed mirror and put spacers on fairing, but it means i cant put on my old screen. And current is missing a good few inches from the left hand side, so at last mot they ranted about me losing my hands in future.
But MOT is for roadworthyness not vanity surely...
I might go buy some ducktape and put rubber over it for the MOT ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
