Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself. New to the forum, and just wanted to say hi Wink

Also looking to see if any of you bikers out there could give a bit of feedback on my new website ie. easy reading/good layout/content etc. Would be good to know from the people that count.

Plus, if any of you know of any other interesting sites that might be relevant, let me know and I'll put a link on (forum's on already!)

Thoughts on your site:

The ticker at the top is annoying.

The bookmark this site link is wrong and I'm not sure anyone actually clicks them anyway? - looks amateurish in my opinion.

The red on grey text is slightly hard to read on my monitor.
Similarly the 'logo' has to be looked at to work out what it's saying.

I click 'used and new leathers' and I expect to be able to buy from there, rather than going to another page.

The pictures would look better if not taken on a driveway.

Would be nice to have a seperate page for each item you can 'buy' with more details clearly laid out.

In my opinion, Focused Events are a bit cack.

Your links in the links page aren't obviously links.

The animated icons next to the menus are distracting, annoying and don't seem to be relevant.

Erm, I could go on...
I should warn you, by profession I'm a software tester, so I'm paid to pick holes in things Smile

Your links just look like black text, as you have taken off other styling. Need something to say 'click on me', such as a different colour, button, underline, etc.

Just to show that some things are personal taste.....

I like the colour scheme, it didn't hurt my eyes. What did though, was the main logo at the top. These days a lot of people have large monitors, as mine is, and I felt I had to sit back slightly to take it in. The 'font' is fine, I quite liked it, and it sums up what you are focusing on.

Watch out for the spelling, 'perfect' has an 'f' in it...

It does look home made, but that fits with your profile anyway, unless you want to attract a different type of client/customer/punter.

Other than that, I'd agree with previous comments, but none of these would put me off visiting your site again.

An excellent starting point on which to build your future success!

Your site failed validation with 240 errors.
To me, validation is always the mark of a good site, although I appreciate that not everyone is able to write their own code.

It doesn't look too bad in Firefox at 1024x768 (shush, I know Sad

), though. Simple layout and neutral colours are always going to win. Certainly it's not the sort of design that makes alarm bells go off from a consumer's point of view.

Naah it is the red, but its the red glowy thing on the banner, and the red on black (never a good combo) on the secondary banner thing.

Change the black to another colour (the brown maybe) and you'll be right. Oh and my advice would also be to tone down the glowy thing on the title banner. If its supposed to be a rising sun, then would be better as a rising sun flag rather than a glowing ruby.

Thanks for all your comments guys, and for your time.

I think it was MarJay that pointed out, we all use different browsers and have different screen resolutions so we're all seeing different things at the end of the day.

I'll be looking into making a few aesthetically pleasing changes very shortly Wink

looks fine on my 19" lcd jobby at 1024.

only thing is those spinning red circles.
