The day started out too early for me, getting up at 6:30 to have my breakfast and meet my brother at a layby on the a470 for 8:00.... not a good start ! Shocked
For once i was waiting for him to turn up !!! So i decided to take some pics while waiting.....
https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p138/lilldic_mossy/DSCF1198.jpg
https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p138/lilldic_mossy/DSCF1199.jpg
And a nice one of my lucky "king cat !"
https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p138/lilldic_mossy/DSCF1200.jpg Rawr !

After 10 mins of singing girls aloud songs to myself,my brother turned up and off we went !
Got to the track, found a spot and started to strip off any thing which can break off the bike if it goes down (and for insurance purposes) ,ie mirrors, licence plate, indicators etc...
And taa daa ! one "track prepared" gsxr ! Laughing
https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p138/lilldic_mossy/DSCF1203.jpg
And one "track prepared" millie ! Wink
https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p138/lilldic_mossy/DSCF1202.jpg
The usual lot turned up with their vans and 2 bikes in the back, all track prepared race bikes..... with tire warmers at the ready ! Hand
Then it was a rush over to get signed in, and the back to the bikes for a quick "nap" !
https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p138/lilldic_mossy/DSCF1201.jpg
At about 10ish we had the usual track briefing which everyone goes through, about what the flags mean,corners,medics.... etc....
Advanced lot went out first, then the inter's then it was the turn of the novices ! (I put myself back into the novices, after my little "head banging "trip on the grass last year, to get my confidence back up !)
The first three laps are to get use to the corners and to get some heat into the tires, after that its everyone for themself !
After about the 5th lap the bike was feeling very bouncy and skitty on the corners..... not a happy bunny at all !
Came in after the first session and then waited for the tires to cool down, check what psi i was running and it was upto 37 psi...... When warmed up that gets upto at least 40psi... Shocked
Dropped them down to 30 psi, and the next sessions was wicked !!! {when we finally got back out there after someone highsided and needed two amblances.... in the end he smashed up the bike {not his bike !} and he was okay}
Got passed a few times, but in turned got a few back ! Very Happy
My brother got peeved off with a few 2 strokes cutting back in a overtaking on the corners...... Not aloud !
Had my own personal battle with one of the guys who was next to our bikes in the pits...... Think it was a honda blackbird.....
Everytime i got close to getting pass him on the corners, he left me on the straights.... and when he was behind he couldnt get me on the corners !!
Best move was me getting pass him on the long straight and cutting back in before the corner to the bus stop, making the corner, but carrying too much speed ! With me ending up shooting pass him twice on the grass ! {thank god i kept it upright this time !!!)... Made my brother laugh ! Confused
Put the Sh*ts up the instructor when he passed me on the corner, and i then had him on the straights before the chicane... What with my late braking !!! Back end bouncing everywhere, ran wide on the corner and still kept him behind me !!!! { Who's rossi ?? Razz )
Also found out that people on new blades like it when they pass people, but dont like it when the get passed by people on 600's ! Razz
In total got about 5 sesions in, could have got another one in if it wasnt for the big crash.....

After a busy day, it was back on with the plates, mirrors and to remove all the gaffer tape .... and on with the ipod !.......... Then we turned the motorway and the a470 into another track session on the way home !!!
Bike back home and in one piece !...... Needs a clean !
https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p138/lilldic_mossy/DSCF1204.jpg

More photos of the sexy telefonica and the millie will be posted soon, when the track photographer sends me the cd with the pics on... should get it by wednesday !
In total it was a wicked day, very hot, good bit of racing, and i didnt crash !!! Very Happy

This was my 4th trackday with them, think its time to do some of the bigger circuits out there !!!

Bit of a boring track, but challenging at the same time. I always get on the throttle too quickly before the backstraight, always used to have the back flip out on me.

dont you find llandow a bit small and narrow for a big bike? i did it a couple of years ago on a 125 against 250 and 350 strokers and 600 diesels and that was about right, my 350 ypvs stayed in the paddock all day.

though i would get blasted past mid straight, i could get out of the corners and into them faster, my terminal speed on the straights wasnt much less than the bigger bikes, and i rode round everyone in the corners..... Razz

It is a bit small, but its constant brake,throttle,brake..etc..
When i had my nc30, i took it down there and as you say the smaller bikes kicked arse on the corners but struggled on the straights.
There was alot of track 2-strokes down there then normal.
Also every time i've been down there, the more powerfull bikes have crashed and come off more times then sub 600cc bikes Neutral

I'm booked in on a trackday there in a couple of months. First time out there, but I'm on a 2 stroke 250.

(May aswell be a 125 with the amount of power it has).

Looking forward to it, hopefully it'll be suited enough to my little 2 poke. Was there a photographer there for you?

MSV tracks don't allow you on restricted. So that's Snetterton, brands, cadwell, and another I can't remember.

Ridden Silverstone national circuit, didn't think much of it. Not ridden Mallory but watched there a few times, heard lots of positive things and it looks quite fun.

Watched Thruxton today for the BSB, such a quick track, not sure it'd be great for a trackday.

If you get a chance I'd try Lydden next. Obviously a long way but it's a superb track. I've done it 3 times now.
Pics are about normal price. Fresh orange charge £30 for a CD with all your pics on them. But that's only for 1 rider.

Not sure they ever do bike track days there.

Do lots of track days and you might be able to negotiate a better price over a year.

All the best

No bike days at all. I think its considered too dangerous. Which is a shame, cos its the nearest track to Reading.

It was strange, last time i went down there i got my knee down twice (first time ever)on the first session.... then next session i got my head down aswell (and the bike!!)- Doh ! Embarassed

This time i went out, and felt i did better but no knee down. Confused
Same set up as last time, maybe i still wasnt 100% on the bike and was holding back a bit after last time .... Confused
