Just got back from a visit to Seaford this bank holiday.
Our car tax & MOT had run out so we'd decided to take the bike & have an adventure.

Our first bit of fun was realizing there's no service stations on the M25! My wife was not happy, especially as it was our first long journey on a bike! Mad

I found that i get cramp in my legs from my leathers. There distance between the foot pegs & the top of the seat is too small so my long legs are in agony after an hours riding Crying or Very sad

We also visited Beachy Head, no thoughts of jumping off, but was tempted to push the bike off! The handling is awful. It's definitely in need of some Hagon progressive front forks to sort out the steering Praying

I've managed to arrange for a friend to give the bike a complete professional respray so it should be looking much better for the next tour Cool

I've also decided to keep this little 500cc for commuting & will invest in a larger tourer. Something with a more comfortable seat and a larger screen or fairing which will allow us to cruise at 80/90mph without getting neck ache! I was surprised what a difference we felt between 70mph & 80mph Shocked

Can anyone recommend any bikes for touring. I'll be looking to fit a scotoiler, gps bracket, panniers & top box & heated grips as well as anything else anyone can recommend for touring. My wife finally agreed she's happy to tour on a bike as long as it's comfortable...but a Goldwing is way out of my price range Tut Tut

I saw a bike exactly like yours. Did you go for a ride around 11am on friday? My grandparents live in Seaford & we're looking for an excuse to move there from london. Like you said it's a paradise and the roads are great for biking, much better than the traffic filled one's in london Brick Wall

No way!! I have yet to see another Green Speed four and im 99% there isnt another in Seaford!!

If it was me i would have been wearing black deniese leathers, and Shoei Helmet with black visor and possibly a bag. My S4 still looks fairly standard.

I had just come back from brighton where i met a loads of the SE lot before they went for a ride and went to work (East Dean) so i reckon it was me!! Small world!!

Yea, the roads a nice around my area and takes only 15mins to get to brighton (25mins legally Shifty). Seaford itself is the usally quiet seaside town, nothing much happens around but on a nice day lots make it down to the beach and i like it as place.

You will get a hell of a lot more for your money house wise moving from London to Seaford (presuming your a home owner). The train links to london are fairly good aswell, i see lots of poeple do it daily from seaford whenever i get the early trains. The A23 is pretty direct aswell Thumbs Up

Hope this helps your decision

I'm sure it was you. I was driving my grandad's pinky/purpley Toyota Picnic at the time (helping them out by filling up with petrol and getting some shopping in Morrisons!) Smile

We've added "My grandparents need the family to be closer now they're over 70" to the list of resons to move, although they're not that old & feeble as my Nan stuck my wife's helmet on her head & I took her for a spin & my Grandad was keen to get the bike out the garage everytime we went out!
Unfortunately we don't own a home so nothing to sell, but I finish my job on friday with nothing to go onto. Perhaps we'll move in with my grandparents & look for a job down there. Fortunately my grandparents have a big bungalow with a garage for my bike Dance!

My wife's Czech so she's desperate to live near the sea coming from a land-locked country Praying

Is it easy to find work down there?

I'm hoping to change my bike for a Honda XLV1000 Varadero. Seaford is the perfect place as we can hop on the ferry & tour through Europe to visit my wifes family Chequered Flag
