I think they would be very out of place. Personally I use a backpack to carry anything that wont fit under the seat. Its VERY rare I need to carry anything that is too big to put in a bag.

Dunno specifically about the NSR, but I've recently bought a "Pro Sports" tank bag from Hein Gericke, and found it to be ideal for commuting and for day trips etc  ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N
