Its really starting to weird me out.

When Tara (my last dog) died last November, we couldn't take it not having a dog. So we picked up Lacey, Another Rhodesian Ridge back within a month of loosing Tara.

When we had Tara, me and my sister was in opposite rooms. But since loosing Tara, We swapped bedrooms, So now I have the big room.

Tara used to spend most of her time sleeping in the corner of this Room, But she Died over 6 months ago now, There is no way that her scent is still in the house, Carpets get shampooed every month or so, The entire room has been re-painted, New furniture and every.

BUT, Lacey (my new dog) seems to sit in my room, Looking at the corner where Tara once laid, And she keeps Pining. Whenever I approach her when she is sat near the corner, She acts very strangely, Really pushes into me wanting loves (Like she does when she is attention seeking).

Its Proper strange. Confused

And its only when she is sat in this place that she acts ANYTHING like this. She NEVER cries, ever. Weird dog I swear!

its not uncommon, in my old house my cats would sleep curled up in front of the fire, there was one place they wouldnt which was the spot where my other cat used to lie, theyd never seen the other cat as he had died 2 years before, sometimes theyd walk into the room and jump as if startled by something too, i guess auras hang around who knows

They say cats and dogs sense the dead/ghosts.
Cant see why they cant pick up on their own kind ?
Plus dogs have more sense of smell then humans so they might still get a whiff of a previous dog....

That was my immediate thoughts. But 6 months seems along time for a "scent" to stay around. Especially when the walls have been re-painted and the carpets have been shampooed numerous times.

Meh, Shes still sat there now! Laughing
Not even laying down, Shes sat bolt upright, staring into the corner. every now and then she will whimper.
Daft dog!

Could be because you named it Lacey,Sorry just had to get you back.
You could get a doggy bed and let Lacey rest in it in the day time.
Then after a while move it to the corner that is the problem.
It may feel more at ease and it will be used to this place for resting even
if it has been moved.

Paddy.

Not buy choice im afraid. Previous owners called her that. (We got her at 6 month old).

Ridge backs really should be called names like "Simber". Smile
Afraid Lacey is an Essex name. Which is where we got her from! Laughing

I do really think if you get her a bed that is her space that is for her only
that she will find a place is safe.At the moment she may be expecting a
dog to come in at any time and have to fight for that space.
Let her know that it is hers.

Paddy.

Why on earth would you need to shapoo the carpets so often? do you live in a coal mine or have OCD tendancies??
