the standard oil in the vfr800 and late 750s is hondas ss8 fork oil,
it has a weight of 7.5w which is really light compared to most bikes but ive heard that the bike doesnt react properly with 10w oil in it.
i think standard 5w oil is fine, but i think i would shell out a little more and get "pro honda suspension fluid ss8" ____________________ the humans are dead

bugger, in this case i wouldnt listen to haynes on getting the seals out.
there is a slightly easier way,
get a wood screw, and jam it into the seal then try and get it to bite, then pull the seal out.
not really a professional way but, its quick and it works
unless its easy to split your forks, i can't remember if it is on yours or not ____________________ the humans are dead

I'de like to see a fork seal changed with the fork insitu !
I've located a set of seals nearby so i'll fetch them in the morn and get them changed, they're the good nipon parts aswell.

insitu.
short for insituation. That does'nt sound that clear either so in short,
"change the fork seal without completely dismanteling the stantion".
Hows that sound? ____________________ don't take it easy 'ride it like you stole it' |
