 |
|
Hi,
I've just changed the chain and sprockets on my bike and it seems i was slightly over zealous with the riveting tool. The heads of the pins have split slightly where they have been "squashed" in too much. Is this going to be a problem? It still "looks" like the side plate has no chance of coming off.
I have ordered another link just in case. Bit of a pain really, it was probably done right the first time but i went back and gave the pins another good seeing to as i was paranoid they hadn't been done enough.
Cheers, |

I would say that so long as the side-plate is pressed-home fully you'd be ok for normal riding. If you're going out for a good thrash I'd be thinking twice about that. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I was thinking along the same lines myself but if i don't change it I'm only going to worry about the thing, and if it did let go, well that would be kinda crap and i wouldn't be able to blame someone else.
I posted really in the hope that loads of people would say "don't worry about it, i always do it" type thing, but as there is even a hint of doubt ill change it. |
