My sister is getting her tongue re done and like a fool said yeah ill go and get my nip pierced when she goes!

When i was in my teens i had my ear pierced and ive got tattoos.

Honestly it depends on your pain threshold as to how much its going to hurt. I've had my tongue done a few times and never had it frozen or anything and i wouldn't have said it hurt THAT much. My friend has her nips done and said it wasn't too sore either.

I tend to find that its more afterwards it hurts but if you take the right precautions e.g. keeping it covered in ice and keep it cleaned properly later on youll find the pain is kept to a minimum.

I've only got a quite small tattoo so can't really compare the pain but I would say when I was getting my tattoo it wasn't sore at all.

Depends where it is and so on.

got mine done about 20 years ago and it nipped at bit (pardon the pun) i think its pretty quick nowadays compared to back then, my daughter says if youve had a tat then u should be fine and she pierces allsorts not bassetts before any smart alec chips in

Make no mistake: it hurts. A lot. But for less than a second, and after that, the endorphins kick in and you don't mind.

By comparison, I reckon stubbing your toe on the wardrobe is far more painful and lasts a lot longer.

My tongue hurt way more than my nipple, but I wasn't as psyched about it and didn't have much of the adrenaline going.

Unusually, the place I went to still used a freezing spray although it still hurt. It hurt for like 2 seconds as the needle was pushed out the other side but it didn't hurt as the needle went in. Most places don't use freezing spray as far as I know as it apparently interferes with healing, takes longer. Mine healed fine though and relatively quickly.

It never bled and I looked after it religiously during the healing period.

The dull ache I got all day after that hurt like hell and was very distracting but this subsides slowly after a week maybe. Probably less than that.

I initially got a ring but had it changed to a bar later on because it caught on things, but unless there's something you're not telling me you won't have that problem. Bars heal better too if I remember correctly.

Men have smaller and flatter nipples usually so it'll probably hurt you more than it hurt me. But like people have said, the pain of getting it done only lasts a second or two and you'll be alright with the aching afterwards.

My tongue hurt a lot more, it felt like the moment was lasting for forever. I could feel the needle sliding up through my tongue and popping up through the surface and was screaming inside my head. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't relaxed myself so much but it made my nipple piercing seem relatively insignificant in comparison.

Not that you asked, but when healing it I used Carex aloe vera antibacterial hand wash in the shower and Savlon antiseptic wound wash which was recommended to me by map off here just to keep it clean while I was out of the shower.

And every so often near the start, you'll have to clean some nice gunk off the bar. Which isn't a problem and it's normal but it's just a bit gross and you might go 'WHAT T'FOOK'S THAT!?' in your burly Northern accent.

Drink a lot of Coke and eat a lot of chocolate before you go in and you'll be reet!

Had mine done, about 3 yrs ago. Was never pierced before, no biggie pain wise but the blood was a bit messy [crap piercer, never went back]

Blokes have them done in the brown circle around the nipple - the nipple is too small on a bloke.

Get ring[s], bars will catch everything. You can change them later. Afterwards my bike leathers aggravated them.

Sea salt solution is about one of the best things you can clean a piercing with. Natural, no additives - table salt has something in it which can strip the bodys healing ability from the wound.

Seeing as i have my tongue and nipple pierced i thought id give you my take

My tongue didnt hurt at first but hurt lots afterwards. My nipple wasnt a really painful piercing but then again it depends of the person.

A note to take into consideration, i have had my nipple pierced for 3 years and still flairs up, i think i will take it out at the end of summer as always having to clean it. Dont have this problem with my other piercings

Not me but my older brother has had both nips done (one horizontally, one vertically).

He has several big tattoos in painfull places, stomach, chest etc. But said the nipple piecerings hurt more than any of the tattoos.

Not a normal pain but the type that makes you feel sick and go funny.

I can't compare it to a tongue piercing but mine didn't hurt at all, but on saying that I have very little feeling in my nipples although my ex got his done a few months later and he said it was agony so I guess it just depends on pain threshold and nipple sensitivity...squeeze your nipple (hard) and see how much it hurts and use that to help you judge

Urgh nah what on earth would you want to bother for, its shit. I had mine done and they just refused to heal. You cant touch them hardly so it can spoil stuff and I just gave up and took them out after about 6 months. Mainly because I didnt catch a bunch of keys properly and it murdered my tit! unbearable pain

Anyway its bad enough when guys gorp at your tits, dunno what I was thinkin trying to make my nipples stand out even more not that youd have that problem Ben.

I did some piercings myself and they healed up no problem, still put them in now and again, but just visual really, dont do much for sensitivity.

when i had mine done i was talking to the piercer about her clit hood piercing and i didnt notice the needle going in

healing was a pain though, i seemed to snag it on everything for weeks, its worth the effort though, for the increase in sensitivity

Why the fuck would you get your nips done?

It just looks seriously homo, you never get them out, and it gives you pokeys pretty much constantly.

Bah, get the tongue done. Not (instantly) noticeable, pretty impossible to rip it out in a fight, it cleans itself (i never bother to clean it, i complete forget its there 99% of the time, sleep eat etc normally) and you can get glow in uv ones (like mine) which as every bloke knows will attract women like flies (they like shiny things).

Never heard of any bloke pulling from nip piercings, but myself and many guys i know have all had the 'wow you've got your tongue pierced, i bet thats fun.... ' conversation with many a girl.

In answer to your question it just feels weird. Doesnt actually hurt (think injection), and only hurts if you chew hard stuff (avoid chocolate like the plague) too soon. Very few peoples tongues swell up, and once you have a smaller bar ~week you forget its there completely. And it never heals up fully, so you can take it out and repierce yourself again a few years down the line if you want.

Go on, you know it makes sense.

Oh and ive yet to hear of someone who got an infected tongue piercing (saliva is a pretty good antiseptic) as opposed to shitloads who got big pussy nips.

IMHO depending on the chest it is on depends on if the nipple piercing looks HOT or not.

Same goes for tongue piercings.

I've kissed someone that had one, didn't do anything for me. (maybe even the opposite). But then again it depends on how good you are at kissing.

I've been looking at the flesh tunnel you can get for your ears. I quite like the look of them and wondered how you go about getting one done? Do you need to have a normal piercing and then stretch it or something?
