right, im talking to someone from i know on msn, shes saying all the right things, like what shes into etc, but she keeps telling me to join facebook, and shes not making a lot of sense! (then again... Laughing )

i dont think its her, its either someone else or a BOT of some sort. i looked up the facebook page and its asking for my msn address and PASSWORD. great for viraling your site to thousands of people by hyjacking their contact list methinks..........

It's like myspace with less Americans.

Myspace, Facebook, faceparty, quick easy way to share who you are with people Smile

Edit: The password relates to the facebook password, your email is your username (I think) and theres an option somewhere to Invite all your contacts to it, hence the annoying spam you can get Very Happy

https://www.facebook.com/

Scam? Shifty Why?

You just have to register. I love it. Have got in contact with lots of old friends in just 3 weeks. You can put as much or as little info about yourself as you like. Only your accepted friends see your info and at that you can choose to give them limited access.

IMHO it is the new and very much better friendsreunited.com (which was rubbish).

as above its just another myspace jobby, everyones addicted to it at work, personally i cant be arsed, and refuse to join. like every other web 2.0 bollocksy stuff, the novelty will wear off at some point and everyone will be jumping on the next bandwagon.

no jo dear i havent gone mental, ive always been that way Wink

everyone seems to be talking about it at the moment. these things irritate me a little, im just suspicious of the way they work. hi-5 does the same thing - it automatically sends everyone in your contacts list an email inviting them to join hi-5 - from you, but without your knowledge.

i just find it a bit insidious.

i dont dispute that its good fun, but ive had trojans on MSN before and they create havoc.

anyway, what the hell....ive joined......just like myspace, msn spaces, hi 5, bebo, friends reunited....... Embarassed

You inly get spammed by your msn contacts if they don't read it all. Thy give you the chance to email your contacts and invite them. If you just click through it all everyone gets spammed.

Facebook is good

Can actually add people you want to talk to rather than random emo net twats

Plus its impossible to create an utter brain raping profile like you can on myspastic

I've never received one email from anyone saying join facebook!

And exactly as Toby says, facebook is under your control, you can add and remove as you please and reject any new requests if you don't know the person.

I've gained contact with lots of old friends though adding one friends and looking at their friends etc. Very Happy

I have found out an old work colleague knows a skydiver I used to film for. I would have had no idea we had friends in common if it were not for facebook.

IMHO, it's the only one worth bothering with.

Facebook is probably the /best/ social networking site as in my experience more people I want as friends have it.

Yeah it's great

Friendsreunited is shite and should deservedly be plunged into obscurity for obscenely charging people for messaging each other :/

Myspace is full of Virii/unreadable profiles

Faceparty is full of friendless wankers

I`ve joined and it`s okish...
Its good for keeping intouch with friends but I do find it complicated to use. ( or maybe I`m just dim Laughing Laughing )
It`s ok tho, but not as adictive as some people seem to think. Not for me anyway. Laughing Laughing

Facebook is great! It's a really easy way to keep track of what all your friends are up to, organise your social life and track down old mates to see how they are.

It's like a cross between faceparty and friends reunited, but with no peverts - just perverts you're already friends with Laughing

I'm hooked Thumbs Up

Facebook is full of people who share and collect FA Premiership football stickers and decide "need need need got need got got need!" Confused

I've found it's pretty cool cos you meet up with people who you WANT to meet up with, i.e. lasses from your primary school, have reunions and shit like that. Useful if you're in Uni and wanna know whats hot and whats not and stuff like going out. Initially i though what the fuck is facebook, but in the end, you get hooked to it - not so much to mess about with layoutwise but the simplicity is what makes it so easy to use - i don't really like the add-ons that much though.

Also - facebook don't like friend whores - as i err found out with shaun! Shocked Rolling Eyes

Titot you were lucky, I don't like friend whores, but you were too much of a ledge to ignore. Cool
