try cleaning the spark plug with a wire brush (I THINK that's what you are supposed to use)

Clean Spark Plug, pull spark plug cap off the HT lead and clean both ends, check the condition of the end of the HT lead while you've got the cap off, also check underneath the Coil and make sure the connections are still attached*, if that's still no good check fuses, check condition of the side stand connections then get back to us...HTH.

* I didn't when I broke down in the middle of fucking nowhere and waited for four hours in the pissing rain...

Before you do all that's recommended above, get some WD40 and liberally spray the HT lead and around where sparkplug meets cylinder head. The water at the moment will more than likely be causing a short...

To fix long term, fill HT Cap with dielectric grease.

You have checked the spark? ? ? WTF is a Spark?? Do you mean you have checked for a spark or you have checked the spark plug?

Take the plug cap off stick a screwdriver up the hole and earth the other end on the head (keep hold of the plastic handle). Then turn the engine over, is there a spark between the driver and the head? If there is then check/clean/replace the plug. If there isnt then the Plug cap HT lead or coil needs checking.

Doing the above test will save you from fannying around trying to find the problem by stripping everything down.

Hi m8 I had the same problem with my rs125 also.

It cut out when I was going to work and wouldn't start back up.

Checked the plug lead and was fine so I got into more depth.

1. Bought a new spark plug for peace of mind.
2. Cleaned out the spark plug lead and give it a good spraying of gt80.
3. Removed the coil and cleaned all the earthing connections, mine was rusty!!! Again a good blasting of gt.
4. Cleaned my generator up were the metal meets the other metal to create electricity was rusty!!! hence not charging my battery and not producing a nice bright blue spark to make the engine fire up.
5. Cleaned the earthing on the starter motor yet again was rusty and put aload of grease on that to keep it dry.
6. I gave it a rest over night because I had really flooded it out tryin to get it started on a dual carrage way. While it was resting I had the battery on charge.
7. Attached battery and a jumper pack for extra power and ticked over perfectly also noticed it run alot smoother.

The fun you have with scooters and bikes. Very Happy

let me know if it sorted it out.
