 |
|
The black paint of my gsxr (k4 1000) swingarm is bubbling and starting to flake off. Its only done 6k and lives in a garage so i wouldnt expect this of a less than 3 year old bike. I believe that it has a 3 year manufacturer warranty - would this be covered? ____________________ Current : '08 Yamaha FZ1s

Do you use it in Winter?
Road Salt knocks fuck out of the inside just in front of the tyre.
If it's that kind of issue, you may/will be pushin' an Elephant up a Girafe's arse getting any joy out of a dealer.
Just face it man, 'Motorbikes are shite'!
Good luck. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

Wrong wrong wrong! FIT FOR THE PURPOSE! its the law that it must be of satisfactory quality and that isn't. There is no disclaimer saying "Not For Winter Use" in the hand book.
Took most of my bikes back for one reason or another and never had any problems as long as you don't let them fob you off.
Suzuki finishes are terrible and I would be in the dealers demanding they fix it and anything else that is looking ropey. For the paint to bubble beans the swing-arm wasn't prepared properly for painting. The only way you wont be able to make a claim if if you have damaged the paintwork(stone chip) and moisture has got under the paint. ____________________ Andy Sez....

Had a great one a few years back when I was a service manager. We did a service on a Buell City X which was 7 months old and all the paint was peeling from around the fairing supports so we recommended the bloke try to get it replaced under warranty. The local dealer then refused to warranty it as he had driven in the rain.

Fit for purpose.....
That is such a grey area that Lawyers make a living from it.
If the paint gets chipped from stone damage how is that a warrantable issue?
What is the purpose it was designed for and what would be considered normal use?
Take it in and find out.
I'm going in with all the tyres I get holes in then... ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |
