It'll turn up. It will have been nicked by scrotes to razz about on and they'll dump it when they run out of petrol. Professional thieves don't nick 125s. They nick modern sports bikes and break them for spares.
I hope for your sake it doesn't turn up though. Having had this happen to me several times, it's a better outcome all round if it just disappears never to be seen again. If it does turn up again it'll be in a shit state and will never be totally 'right' again regardless of how well 'repaired' it has been. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. My Vanvan was my baby It's just a pain in the backside having to rely on lifts and public transport for like the next 3 weeks til I get a replacement. First time i've had to deal with insurance and this kinda thing with my bike. The annoying thing aswell is that it was in broad daylight aswell. ____________________ Name:Dan

Hoi, check out that dirt bike over there. That'd be pure mental by the way.
Aye but it's go one o' them disc locks on it.
Well I'm going to chorey it anyway.
Picks up front wheel, wheels bike round corner where nobody is looking.
Gimme that hammer by the way.
Batters brake disc with hammer, shatters disc to bits
Right, now hold it while I batter the steering lock off.
Kicks shit out of handlebar until steering lock breaks, bends handlebar and smashes switchgear in the process.
Gimme that screwdriver.
Hammers screwdriver into ignition lock, turns bike on
Mind, what if the polis are looking for it?
Snaps off numberplate, snaps off sidepanels, takes screwdriver to tank so noone can read the make and model
Pure dead brilliant by the way!
Rags bike round local playpark until petrol gone/bored/engine blows/crashes badly enough to render unrideable, cuts fuel line, lights end, walks off to find another one.

Had some chavs come and scab my DTR which I'd spent a year and a half restoring and modifying. 2 months later it was found but was in a very bad way and it certainly didn't look much like the bike I'd lovingly put right. It would appear they didn't want to dump it either because they hammered off my fuel cap.
Sure enough they were not the smartest of thieves because my bike had a servo driven powervalve which closes when the bike is started and as they had taken the majority of the electrics off, it wasn't opening at it's given RPM. The result being that they only got half the power it had. Another thing which led me to believe they were not that smart would be that when they took off my engine numbers, they didn't take the right ones off. They took off the 1N23456 |
