 |
|
Ages ago I took my rear indicators off as they were crap basically and another thing to take off for trackdays so they were junked. Been riding around using the (very occasional) hand signals when necessary. Finally got round to fitting an integrated rear light/indicator jobby from Clear Alternatives and am impressed. Good bit of kit and simple to install .
Pics and a video below. For some reason the can looks completely wonky but in reality it's dead straight .

Recommended bit of kit . Keeps the back end uncluttered.
I know it might not be MOT safe but I know a friendly MOT man. |

Oh well done then .
You know you said it's not MOT safe does that mean it'd fail with really strict people or do indicators have to be a certain size legally?
Reason i'm asking is that I was thinking about putting smaller indicators on the CG, don't think I'll be getting a big bike for a while due to money .
So may aswell tart the bike up a little. |

Basically they have to be a certain distance apart, so as long as you keep the mini indis in the stock position they should be fine |

I believe the reason for them not being MOT safe is that they are too close together and do not give a full represenation of the intended change in direction..... Or something like that!!! ____________________ Crazy, not Stupid.......

Indies aren't really that important at all really on a bike, you should be shoulder checking and giving yourself pleanty of room before changing direction anyway.
I find when Im riding ive got to take control of the situation when im changing lanes etc. An indicator and mirror check isnt suffice because blind car drivers dont even notice the indication anyway. Its a case of getting in front enough so you can get across safely etc.
Ive got plans of putting the RSV rear clustor into my NC29 tail piece soon. MOT isnt a problem if you work in an MOT station.

The actual position of the indicators isn't checked in an MOT but it is covered by the Statutory Requirements which state that for a solo bike they should be a minimum of 240mm apart. |
