Indicator PROBLEM!!! HELP!!!

Hi everybody. I think I have a serious problem. My bike is a Honda NSR125R 2001. Its great, but I think there is a problem with the indicator. When I indicate to go left the left indicatior works fine it flashes and the indicator on the display flashes too. Problem is it does not work on the right indicator, when i indicate to go right the right inidcator just lights up, and stays on, it doesn't flash, it just stays on, both the front and rear. I am not technically good with these things, but if somebody pointed me in the right direction, it would help, I could robably do it. Oh, if I cannot fix it, is the bike still legal?

Bike is not legal if it don't flash. Check the wiring for the right hand indicators

Yeah, my bulb died, so I got a replacement, the one I took out was rated 2W the one i put in was 6W, but it works fine. The front indicator was still doing the same thing even without the bulb in the rear?

Hi

The wattage is relevant. The relay depends on a particular wattage of bulb. Get the wrong wattage and the bulbs will flash at the wrong rate, or not at all

Yeah, I replaced the long original indicators with mini indicators, but they worked fine, after about 1600km this started to happen. HELP!!!

I changed my indicators to mini ones last week.. drove up home thinking I was the dogs bollox, got to my house and realised the left one hadn't been working since I left my mates Embarassed

. Turns out one of the wire connections had detached itself some how

I changed mine to mini-indicators....but couldnt be arsed to get a new relay. Had no indicators for 3 months Embarassed

C'mon guys, can somebody just tell me how to fix it. What is the relay? I have connected all the wires, but I think its something else. HELP!!!

First, if it's a 2001 model it should still be under warranty... so get it sorted through that.

All the times I've only had one indicator left on without flashing it's been because there was a broken connection somewhere, though I'm sure there's other things that can cause this.

I haven't had working indicators on my bike for a while I just use arm signals... I'm not sure about the legality of having indicators that don't work though. (you can still get an MOT if you don't have indicators however).

Its still under warranty, but I will have to go to liverpool to sort it out. I want to fix it, so if you told me how, I can probably do it.

i dont think you legally have to have indicators, the thing you have to have is brake lights and head lights Smile

so fu*k the indicators and use your arms Very Happy

seriously tho... its probably the wrong wattage bulb that is causing the problem... change it Smile

I presume it's not uk spec (cos then you could get it done at any authorised Honda garage).

If it is something more serious and you managed to mess it up they could refuse to fix it under the warranty.

its an offence to have indicators fitted that dont work

so if you have them and start using your arms expect to be pulled

plus indicatin right with your arm is a bitch
