'lo.

Now that I'm the proud owner of a freshly ruined RVF, it's time to spend the money on it that I should have just saved and got one that hadn't been stacked a few times. duh.

So, cue the carbon fibre, HRC bits and all the other performance mods you could possibly throw at it.

First question is could you fit a CBR600RR front end (forks, brakes, wheel) to it? And if you could, would it handle better or worse?

Second question is a centre-up exhaust feasible? I was going to use the tyga rear end as a template, although I'd be getting a modified carbon fibre version made up by a mate who makes bits for F1 cars.

Thumbs Up

Ay op timmeh, i don't think the CBR600RR would be much of an improvement over the stock RVF front-end. I'd save the money and get a set of Ohlins springs and get the front forks set up properly.

What happend to the GSXR4?

ello duder Very Happy

I hear ya on the front. However if I had RR forks I could go for a hefty big-brake option a la RCV. Plus. it would look cooler.

The gixxer's still around; still haven't managed to get the fork seals changed, and the engine failed a compression test thanks to being run around with the fuelling wrong. At best it's a new set of rings and worst it's a rebore and a set of oversize pistons to get it working properly, which is a real shame. Sad Maybe next summer I'll get it going again.

Hows the business doing?

you could fit any front end to any bike you wanted.... with a bit of work, you may need the complete front end including the yokes,
you may have to press the stem from your yoke and the cbr yoke, and swap them over, (im not sure if either are steel or ali yokes)
i did a gsxr front end onto a gs500 with out too much bother.
i say go for it Mr. Green Thumbs Up

any front end you say?

cool, I'll have an Aprilla MX50 front and a '98 R1 rear.

Now I just have to find a broken RR and rescue the front.

sweet. Laughing

he seems to be OK with them and hasnt complained once.

I can't remember if you're on 400GB or not, but there's a guy on there that does 442cc piston kit that is lighter than the stock pistons. The JE piston kit is quite heavy. Come with all the bits you need. He's US based too so you'll get a bargain with exchange rates they way they are.

its 2 grams heavier than stock which is close.
you have g-force who get produced there set of hrc copy pistons for the rvf in 1mm,2mm,2.5mm overbore pistons and they are all lighter than stock, they also have a spec for a titanium conrods which they get carillo to make. which is on my list.

There is also a guy in the US who does a kit for the GSXR which is basically a set of pistons from another bike.
