Those of you who had one, Cast your minds back, what are the really good games worth getting for the game cube?

Anyone still got one?

I still have one, its gathering a nice layer of dust underneath the TV, play it very very occasionally, but I bought it way after the initial release anyway, and didnt take it out of its box for up to a year

In my collection:
Arrow Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour (if you liked the N64 one, and golf is a vague interest to you)
Arrow Rogue Squadron 2 + 3, good clean arcadey star wars shoot em up fun
Arrow Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, remake of the original Metal Gear Solid, completely re-done with new graphics, extra bits, and a first person mode, so its now stupidly easy
Arrow Resident Evil Zero (Gamecube exclusive)
Arrow Resident Evil REmake (expanded plot, and also exclusive to cube, very dark and damn scary)
Arrow Resident Evil 4 (came with my console, not played it yet)

Others I have had:
Arrow Super Mario Strikers, football type mario game, pretty cool if you like that kinda thing
Arrow Mario Kart: Double Dash, not as good as Mario Kart 64
Arrow Animal Crossing, strange RPG thing where you have to live a life in real time, highly rated, but I thought it childish and crap

the top 25 according to Gamespy is a good place to start.. but bear in mind this was written a few years ago now

Metroid Prime is brilliant and very atmospheric, one of the top games on the system, it's a cross between an RPG and and FPS.

Avoid the sequel if you haven't played the first one.

Metroid Prime is excellent, still play it occasionally.

Super Smash bro's is fun if you have a couple of mates to play with.

Pikmin is just funny.

Doshin the giant is a good game but can get tedious.

Super Mario was quite fun for a while, got a bit repetitive though.

Get Zelda Twilight Princess, really really really good game.

Tales Of Symphonia is essential. and Starfox adventures, also Def Jam Vendetta is good. I like Sonic Adventure 2 but it's an acquired taste. Sonic mega collection is essential. And the resident evil remakes, really makes me wonder why I sold the twatting thing lol If only the wii was compatible.

Yes, open the 2 white flaps on top of the wii. One has 4 GC controller ports and the other has 2 GC memory card slots.

Can't believe you didn't know that Smile

I'd completely dismissed the Wii tbh I just didn't like the idea of waving my arms about the place and stuff and Wii sports didn't interest me! Gonna have to look into these now see what all the fuss is about Very Happy

Oh, I assumed you had one Smile It's fair enough you don't know they can play GC games if you don't have one.

The wii is ace for multiplayer, 4 people playing tennis or 12 playing wario ware is such a laugh. Single player, there's not a load out at the moment although Twilight Princess is one of the best games I've ever played (on a par with Ocarina of Time I think), Resident Evil is also meant to be fantastic but I've not got it as it looks too scary!

You can also download retro games from the NES, SNES, N64, Mega Drive and Turbografx. They range between £4 and £7 each. More are released every Tuesday.

The download service is a financial liability! A bit of beer-enhanced nostalgia and a few minutes later you're £5 poorer!

Having said that, I've downloaded R-Type and played it loads. I used to have on my Atari ST years ago but this version is so much better than that was.

Back on Gamecube games, the one unmissable game is Super Monkey Ball (first one). Simple and addictive.

Arrow Resi series, i have 0,1,2,3, code veronica x and 4, the best undoubtedly is 4. awesome game closey followed by 1 & 0, these three are a must!
Arrow Time splitters: future perfect - absofuckinglutley great multiplayer and a good laugh for 1.
Arrow Tales of symphonia should be compulsory to a 'cube or indeed wii owner.
Arrow Supermonkeyball - again awesome multiplayer.
Arrow Soulcalibur 2 Ace fighting game
Arrow Bloody roar: primal fury - stupidly fast fighting game
Arrow Zelda windwaker and mega collection. Obviously.

Project zero is a good game although quite linear and short lived, think devil may cry with lara croft and robots.

wouldnt know about single player games but my mate has Mario Kart and that's been the post pub entertainment for years. We'll have a lap or 2 before the pub and it's been known (with the aid of a few tins) to see daylight.....
