Hey all, got a ybr125 Confused

my dipped headlight (and sidelight) went the other night so today i replaced the bulbs, the sidelight is all and dandy but the dipped beam is not working, but fluck to high beam and it works.

I took the headlight apart again and checked the connection and all the wires etc and it seems fine, tried again to no avail.

I need the bike tomorrow as im taking two days intensive lessons before my test on the 17th.

Any ideas?

thanks in advance,

Dale

Either its a duff bulb that you have fitted or maybe a fuse has blown but that is unlikely given that the other lights work. Could be a wiring problem.

Take the bulb out and if your eyesight is decent you should be able to see if the filament is broken or intact. A gentle flick on the side of the bulb often helps you see if the filament has a break.

Other than that you are sure you are looking at the right bulb aren't you. Stupid question I know, but stranger things have happened.

ive got good eyesight and when i checked the bulb looked fine and fully intact to me.

yep im sure ive got the right bulb, there is two in my headlight, one sidelight (comes on automatically when the key is turned) and the main bulb which has a high and dipped filament, which comes on when the bike is running. usually takes a couple of seconds for the high/ dipped to come on.

it has been suggested on my local forum the problem is either with the bulb, the switch or the wiring from the switch to the headlight is not working, of corse i cant tell as i dont have a multimeter Sad

/stress mode off
