Just giving my friends Golf a once over before the MOT.
What i know
Tyre is slit, assuming it's a fail.
Rear brake binding, will fail if it binds again.
What i need advice on
How bouncy is bouncy when it comes to spotting failed dampers? I drive a car with sports suspension, so this golf feels like a bouncy castle. Is it just down to each mechanic?
If a car is fitted with a rear windscreen wiper, does it have to work? i.e. this one won't work.

Rear wiper isnt tested so dont worry about that (front wipers are tested for operation and their job of clearing the screen)
As for tyres...C.

As for shocks they have to be pretty darn bad to fail....

Brake - wheel off, wiggle the calliper. Freed it up, but the rear side of the disc has only had 30% of the surface worn, the rest is rust. Near side of the disc is grooved.
Works now, but i didn't drive it.
Suspension. Just feels rather wobbly. Doubt its as bad as i make it out and kwickfit had just replaced the rear dampers (and didn't fit any boots), so i assume the checked the fronts.....
It gets a few oscillations, and coming to a heavy stop makes it wallow.
TBH, sod her, she picked it up and belted off, hardly noticing that i'd taken dents out and polished out the reds / blues / blacks from the silver paintwork from where she'd rubbed things.
Was also off the bottom of the dipstick for engine oil. - VW TDI1.9 . . . . . . ..
