The co-op Indian prince is pretty nice.

Agreed, lapsang thingummy tastes utterly bogging. I would go so far as to say arse tastes better. I am prepared put arse in my mouth if I think there is something in it for me (depending on whos arse obviously), I will never volountarily drink that sort of tea again.

Anyone ever accidentally picked up a can of beer that folks have been using as an ashtray and taken a swig? Tastes like that, only hot.

I likened it to burnt firelighters yesterday.

Chai, Ceylon and good old Earl Grey are my favorites.

Lapsang ... might as well lick an ashtray.

One of my girlies drinks all those "healthy green tea" things.
Man, some of them smell nasty.

I don't mind when she drinks the blackcurrant version.

But ryegrass and sheeps-dropping flavour (or whatever it is) smells gross.

I've heard from more than one (usually) reliable source that Lapsang Souchon is a blend of the stuff that didn't make it into all the other 'fancy' teas.

Would explain the arse/ashtray comments

Yeah it's made by lower grade leaves, doesn't contain as much caffeine as a result though.

Twinings Assam tea for me.
Pre-heat pot, leave to stand, milk in cup first etc.etc. Real tea drinkers know the score.
None of that 'teabag in a cup' bollox.

Lol.

I love Earl Grey tea myself. Wifey bought some Lady Grey (orange, lemon and bergamot iirc) which is quite acceptable but a bit weak. I quite like Assam and Darjeeling too, long time since I took them.
Wifey likes English Breakfast.
