From what I understand, if you read between the lines then its ok, but there are also some instances when not allowed, so causes some ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

General stance seems to be as long as it is safe for you to do it, without breaking road rules (solid white line as an example) then it is okay. It does increase the risk, car's doing a u-turn, car driving getting Huffy etc etc.
I have only filtered a hand full of times, those times being down the prom in blackpool as illuminations were on and the speed of traffic was 5mph.
Also at a roundabout when the left lane was backed up for ages and i was going straight on, if i couldnt turn off i would have gone right round the roundabout
Edit
I am a new biker though. ____________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Filtering is 100% legal however thou shall not straddle or cross over solid central white lines, overtake after a No Overtaking sign, overtake the lead vehicle within the confines of the zig-zags of a pedestrian crossing, cause danger or force other vehicles to alter course or speed.

I get confuzzled with filtering and tho's white lines.
I read the Highway code to some extent
Is there 2 sets of white diagonal lines?
1) diagonal lines touching the outer lines
2) diagonal lines in line with the out side lines - but not touching
Im really am naive to this - I only filter if safe to do so - but through Worthings main A27 strech I filter, with many other bikers over white diagonal lines that arnt touching the outerlines.
Maybe I should go back to the HWC book |
