when you say it happened two times you mean, you changed it over to reserve and back two times or im guessing it made a loud bang twice. it could be backfiring i suppose but im not technically minded as some of the other lot may tell you!. it could be the piston miss-firing or something else i expect Keith may be the man with the plan

could be a silly question, but i dont know if your a muppet or not.

was there any two stroke oil in the tank?

could also be the plug, once my CB did a backfire like a shotgun and the choke cable was dodgy. got it home and the plug was fucked from an over rich mixture, blistered to buggery.

Hi

Strange for it to die just like that, and then come back to life when you turn to reserve (assuming you have plenty of petrol). Check the fuel filters inside the tank. Also check the breather into the tank, but that would not explain it working on reserve.

Not sure about the noise. Nearest I can make out you are describing the noise of blipping the throttle on a 2 stroke.

All the best

Keith

i think i know what had happened.....
In some corny way the reserve tank didn't get any oil.
so now it's a scratch in the cylinder...
I think it's a stop in the oil tank.

Hi

Yes, the oil is mixed in with the fuel / air mix in the carb. There is no difference in the oil supply between running on the normal fuel supply and running on reserve.

All the best

Keith
