 |
|
After a trip to the local mechanics today.
Turns out the rear tyre is "square"
I thought something had to be really wrong with the bike because i could get round the local twistys faster on my old dtr than i can on the cb5.
When i fell off it i must have been leaning too much, then by the time i got past the square part of the tyre i was leaning far too much, and that along with the extremely slippy road i was on at the time is what could have caused e to come off.
(Yes it could also have been a lack of skill )
Anyway,it looks like ill have to change the rear tyre.
Its got a bridgestone BT45 on there now, should i stick with that or try something else??
I have no idea what the BT45 bit means, whats the difference??
Rough prices?
Thanks

"BT45" is the model of tyre.
I have Bridgestone BT45's on my divvy and I find that they're a good tyre for the money. Good grip in the dry and the wet and they tend to last me a fair few thousand miles
Thumbs up from me
EDIT: They usually cost me £165 for the pair including fitting (ride in, ride out) ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

Had them on my city fly, seem good enough to me, although I changed the other one after it started to square off slightly and I was down the minimum depth in the middle but not the sides . |

Thanks for the reply m8
I've got no confidence going into corners the way it is at the moment.
My own fault i spose,i should have took it straight to a garage when i bought the bike to get it checked out .
(Just like to note,im not having a go at the bloke i bought it off.He probably didnt know about the tyres or the head bearings.I think i got a good deal off him anyway and he delivered it about 300 miles for me...top bloke )
Im looking forward to getting it back on the twistys when its all fixed to see how much better it is. ____________________ DRZ-400sm |

dont forget to attack your front wheel with sandpaper and do a burnout the second you get your new tyres... otherwise we get this...

new tyres have a shiny finish on them thats slippery as fuck! theres a vid that i cant find of some kid on a brand new GSXR K7, opening it up a bit, and coz the tyres are new and slippery, he bins it!
you need to wear them down a bit to get past the shiny slippery layer. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Once you get new tyre, be careful for about 50 - 100 miles, until shiny surface is worn off, then have fun, it will have a totally different feel then and maybe you will have more confidence on the corners. ____________________ Enjoy everyday, tell those you love everyday you love them

Your bike will feel all pointy and flop into corners alarmingly, it's normal. Have fun |
