GSXR600 SRAD - crashed, bought back off insurance company for £160 (cosmetic write-of. There was a scratch on the frame that added £3000 to the repair bill...). Fixed on the cheap, resprayed for beer money, commuted on daily for 5 years (and 40,000 miles). Put on ebay with a 10-page essay on the sorded history and all the current faults and someone still bid £2050 for it! They liked the way I was being so honest... |

Bought an XJ600 for £425, crashed it twice, abused it, sold it with a blown head gasket and no fairing for £380.
Bought an MZ 125 for £200, crashed it, sold it for £250.
Bought a bandit for £800, crashed it badly, broke the frame and 3 engine mounts. Rebuilt it with a £50 eBay frame. Sold for £800.
(Probably lost about £300, i.e the cost of the repair).
I don't think that's half bad, considering I didn't buy these bikes to sell them on. I bought them for myself, and happily didn't lose much money.

Bought an '04 CBR 125, saw it down the road, bloke had no idea about it, had bought it new, rode it dry of oil, seized the engine, honda fitted a brand new engine for £1200 for him.
He managed to break the crankcase in this again somehow, and needed shot of it quick as was moving, so managed to buy it for £200.
Got my dad to fit a second hand engine from a scrap yard, engine cost £200, labour cost £200.
Bike sold on eBay last week for £1,200.
£600 profit for cleaning it a little. |

Gave up on cars a while ago now and just dont have time to buy and sell at the moment.
