Am i going to need a new fuel tap?

Hi guys

Went to pull the tank off my little RXS100 today and as i gave the fuel pipe a little tug the brass nipple that the fuel line goes onto actually came out of the fuel tap! i went to place it back in and it's just very wobbly it doesn't go back in tightly, the brass nipple when it came out had a plastic type seal over it that was mangled i couldn't save it, what do you guys think? easier to get a new after-market tap? I've attached a photo that hopefully you'll be able to see Smile

If the nipple was sealed and held in place with a plastic type O-ring, then surely replacing the O-ring will fix the problem!
I'd be trying that before buying a new tap.

If a new O-ring doesn't fix it, as an absolute last resort, you could glue it back in place, with plastic metal.

Looks like it has a groove for an o-ring, but I should hope it's held in by more than just friction!

Is it missing an internal circlip from the body of the tap?

I have done that before. They are just glued in so either buy some fuel-safe loctite or believe it or not it's a perfect job for JB Weld, which is 100% fuel resistant once fully cured.

Don't hold your camera/phone as close to the subject. The lens cannot focus properly. You can probably see where some of the background is in focus but the area in question is blurred. So there is little useful detail suitable for inspection.
