New bike...

Picked up a VFR400 NC30 at the weekend as a project bike to keep me busy once the garage gets refurbished. A friend wanted rid of it out of his garage so with the help of another mate we pushed it home. I managed to take a few pictures on the phone, for those interested.

It's an import with a manufacture date of 1992 on the V5. I guess that's the time it came to these shores as it's on a J plate? Many on here will know better. It did approximately 20,000kms before it was crashed with fairings/speedo/tank destroyed. Since then (4 years ago now) it has been the subject of an attempted streetfighter(ish) conversion with little luck in getting it running properly. Originally it was the red/black colourscheme. (I think Binge on here has one like that)

What I do with it from now will depend on the condition of the engine and major parts. A full stripdown will ensue to determine this, although the garage is a tip at the moment due to various other people's crap so I'm not starting this until that's sorted.

I've already registered with 400 grey bikes website, so will post on there to find out what's what with this particular model.

I got a shed load of parts just tinkle me what you need and I'll try and see what i can sort you out. if you have trouble starting it, I'll come round and give you a hand.

ive also got a load of conrod shells that may come in handy, if you do a full engine rebuild.
