 |
|
What would you recommend? using my own bike or the rentals? I ask because I'm guessing the learner bikes will be smaller (eg CG125?) and a lot easier to ride, I don't really think my RS125 enjoys pootling along to be honest, it always begs for a bit of a thrashing with it's 2 stroke engine and that obviously will not be suitable for the test.
Also if a 'theoretical friend' had a fully derestricted RS125 would there be any checks before doing the lessons/test to see if it's restricted for a learner? are there any tell tale signs that I don't know of, on a restricted bike, (the bike is still running the stock pipe and air filter).
Finally what bikes do they tend to use as the rentals for the test (I'll be doing the 33bhp test). Thanks for any help in advance... ____________________ I Ride: Honda CBR 400RR.

Use a rental, if your bike is anything like an NSR, which I bet it is, U-turns are difficult. When you are under pressure it becomes harder to do them.
The test center bikes will do a U-turn within your own lane with no issues, so just use one of theirs. If nothing else you get to piss about on someone elses bike for a couple of days, and they are a lot of fun to ride, I still have fond memories of just getting the yamaha SR125 i was using to do 70 on a dual carriage way . ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. When my did my test a few years ago, local center wouldn't allow RS125's or mito's due to the huge amount of derestricted ones about, and they had no way to *prove* that it was derestricted on the day.
All the best. ____________________ Chrome don't get you home but it sure makes you look good pushing it there.

Well, looks like I will be using a rental then! I don't mind too much though, the RS125 just seems to hate to 'go slowly' and is always begging to be revved silly whilst a small 4 stroke 125 has slow cautious riding written all over it!
Thanks for all the help people! ____________________ I Ride: Honda CBR 400RR.

Can't help you with most of what you asked, But I done my test on a DT125, They don't even mention restriction from what I remember, My bike wasn't restricted anyways.
Infact, I got 2 minors for not accelerating fast enough on a dual carriageway. |
