Insurance money came though for the Fireblade the other day and its already burning a hole in my pocket, currently have a rd350 hybrid thats off the road being worked on and should be getting a XR650R next week as a off roader/city commuting bike.

but l feel like having one more, a sports bike for blasting about in good weather like my old fireblade but around 600-750cc this time.

have around £4000 to spend any ideas?

4 grand could get you such a huge wide range of bikes its a bit silly to ask without narrowing down the criteria somewhat.

Do you want a four? a twin? Japanese? Italian? British? Triumph Speed Triples (955i ones) go for about £4k these days, that might be an option...

Agreed on the zx10r comment.

Perhaps a k4 1000.

Or the 750 idea.

Japaneses V-Twin sounds good, might as well due to the likely hood of getting arse raped by insurance next year so can enjoy myself up till September.

Why not go for a well sorted SP1 since they're cheaper, or do you think that you'd be able to notice the multitude of changes done on the SP2. I loved following my mate's SP2s. It had straight through remus cans and by GOD were they loud! Don't get the 12 cos a spill will more than likely write it off since is a monocoque. They're each as heavy as each other - the SP1 was bloody heavy!

Buy a late 80's sportbike for 1k ~ should be easy this time of year

Spend 500 on getting it right perfect.

Put the rest of the cash in national savings bonds and forget about it.

Sorted, cheap insurance, bit of fun, cool retro Wink and if you drop it turn it into a fighter and have more fun Thumbs Up

SP2 is WAY more track focused than the RSVR, although they are both sports bikes, the SP2 is much harder for road use, id go for the RSVR (new shape) because its just does everything so well, loved the one i rode.
I like the SP2 aswell, and if i were choosing for a track bike id go for it every time.
