Pretty much done, I had a day off work last Thurs and did some serious shopping!

Not bought His present yet cos it's too big to fit in my car so I either need to steal his for a couple of hours or see if I can get them to deliver.

Other than that the pressies are wrapped, the tree is up, the twinkly lights are on and the beer fridge is full to bursting point.

Bring it on.......... Laughing

Spent £300 at Bullring in one mad 5 hour dash.

Done and dusted last week, bought most of it on-line and just waiting for the last of it to arrive. Just popping up town with the kids on Saturday so they can buy something nice for their mom, then they're done as well.

Nope, Christmas Eve every time to get a couple of small things maybe. Really can't see the point of spending any kinda of serious money buying people pointless presents yet again, year after year, are birthdays not enough.

Was listening to Graham Torrington the other night talking about parents who'd got into big debts by buying their kids what they asked for despite not being able to afford it. Really wound me up.

There is a difference between spending a lot cause you can and getting yourself into 30k of debt cause of it.

I don't think my parents have ever spent over £500 on the whole of xmas including food and presents for 2 kids. Not really going to be a debt inducing amount.

I've found already a good way of preparing for xmas is to start saving early. Last year I had no money to buy presents and I prefer to give presents than recieve them, so in January I started putting back a fiver a week towards Christmas, so by the start of December I had about £250 to spend on presents. It made me feel good and I felt like it was free money, I didn't miss £5 a week.

When i'm older and have kids etc, I'll probably put £20 back a week.

I'll be in enough student debt as it is, don't want domestic debt as well. Shocked

Did some of the shopping Wednesday night, doing some more tonight and the rest tomorrow. Actually enjoy getting the "tree presents", which are silly things not costing more than £3. This year includes a can of beans, sink plunger and a whoopie cushion.

See £20 a week is a hell of a lot IMO, and for what? To be saving to buy ppl presents at the end of the year because every retailer says you should? I really don't think you should have to PLAN to be able to afford Christmas, that's absurd, why should it be another stress to deal with and why should you feel you have to buy people things. I don't care if I get nothing, although I usually give something, it's never expensive. And if someone expects you to spend copious amounts of money on them then I think they're slightly misguided.

My sister did practically all of my shopping for me, so all I had to do was transfer money into her account.

Bought myself a new undertray with built in lights and indicators to congratulate myself Very Happy

EDIT:- Oh, also brought myself a Ducati 916 too as a track bike, and some 50mm termi race cans. At this rate I'll have nothing under the tree to unwrap! Laughing
