lol..speedy - always here to help!
tbh....living in uni has given me a better insight to living with friends. The friends you think so highly of and love so dearly will eventually grate on you and their bad habits will do nothing but irritate the shit out of you. I suppose, you find out who your true friends are when you are in such close quarters.
In all honesty.....i would advise to live with your dad and gf. financially I don't think you are ready (being in college and all). If they are your friends...they'll always be, regardless where you end up living. It seems the only reason you don't want to move is because of your friends....if thats the most important thing to you, maybe, as you suggested, try living with your friends in their house for a while. ____________________ Meet the team that will win, Blade, Razor, Blazer and my personal assistant, Michelle and from Romanovia - Fran Stalinovskovichdavidovitchsky

Im sure its something id regret in later life but i think id rather drop college and move out.
In my dads eyes the new wife will come above my sister and my sister will come above me, ive put up with that for the last few years and when most people would go to a parent for advice and help ive had to, and luckily been able to, fall back on friends and their family.
I guess i'm kind of set on moving out if i can but had enough of my family... theres more to it then ive said but simply put, if i can id like to be able to move out.
i think im becoming an EMO!!!! noooooo

defo EMO...
Ditto - i would class myself as the blacksheep of the family also, and have constantly been told that I am stone-cold with no emotions
But as they say, blood is thicker than water. Friends will come and go but family will ALWAYS be there.
Think carefully, you are afterall still very young (feels such a long time ago for me). Friends are not the be all and end all in life....if you drop out of college - what are your plans? you going to get a job? How are you going to be financially able?
Don't just depend on the state to finance your social life - think ahead
but good luck, don't rush into it. ____________________ Meet the team that will win, Blade, Razor, Blazer and my personal assistant, Michelle and from Romanovia - Fran Stalinovskovichdavidovitchsky

Yeah, that £20 a week sounds like a bargain. Tell them that you can move out whenever should you become too much of a burden, then you can move back in with your dad.
£300 a month is not enough to rent really at all. My terraced student house in Brum was £45 a week last year based on 5 sharing and thats considered cheap (not overall, but cheap each).
Also bear in mind bills and living costs. Its not just rent, its water, electricity and gas etc that come on top.
That offer really sounds good, especially if its only a temporary thing. If you do a few chores and are considerate and don't act as a burden on them, then you'll be fine I'd have thought |

I've got one or possibly two years left on my course depending on whether i stay on for the 3rd year or not...
I guess i should take up the 20 quid a week offer, i get on with his whole family really well, i think i spend more time with them than i do with my family!
I have untill the end of the summer to decide but id rather know what im doing soon, it means i can start to plan etc...
Idealy id love to move in with 4 or 5 friends into a rented place but i dont think it would happen, theres not enough of us who would move out from home, besides, unless we were to room share, a 4 or 5 bed house would be stupid money, the house im in at the moment is around the £1500 pcm mark and this is detached 5 bed converted bunglow with garage which would be perfect for us but especialy with bills on top it would be way too much to afford.
cheers

Well you can of course visit your old friends in your old area, while making new ones where you do eventually end up.
2006 I came back to Manchester knowing nobody other than BWFC4eva86 who I had a few brief online chats with, after spending a few years away. Everybody I knew from college and other things had moved away and formed their own circles.
I know a few mates who I go out at weekends with a few times a month, arranged and went to quite a few BCF meets , culminating in what we have today, a small group of riders in an open group.
I also know a few solo riders who are more acquaintances than anybody else, they don't come to meets but we stop and have a chat or a coffee whenever our paths cross.
Bit like solo touringTBH if you have the right attitude and approach people its no problem , Johnny GSXR made me realise this wayy back in 2006. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. My problem is that all the friends i have at the moment i know from secondary school and a few from my old college (last year) but my new college is a long way from home and from anywhere my dad would think of moving so the chance of making friends in a new area are severly reduced by that.
Apart from college and work all i do is chillax ( ) with my friends in this area, as sad as it sounds i dont really see how id make friends in a new area.
Just though id say thanks for all the input so far

sad but true.
if your moving into a new area it will be hard to make new friends. From my experience changing college i have no friends at my college, sure i chat to people while im there, im sociable, but i wouldn't choose to meet up with any of them outside college, that might be because my college is full of wana be gangsters. All my friends are from my old school, and its a lot harder to meet up with them now.
Given the choice i would definitely have stuck with my mates, Of course if you chuck a bunch of strangers together you will make new friends, but trying to fit in to an already formed click is harder.
Saying this i could quite easily make good friends at my college, i just choose not to,
hmmm...
bunk with your mates for a trial month, if it doesnt work out you can allways go back to your dads. ____________________ follow my racing season
