unless you find one of the few gatsometric (not truvelo) forward facing cameras, no a gatso cant do you head on. this is to do with the flash they use.

forward facing use infrared instead.

i've set one off going to Edinburgh and heard nothing, i know of other people who set them off on purpose to waste film too.

Set off one's on the wrong side before, but I wasn't speeding so they were obviously dodgy. Wink

remember not to rely on the lack of a front plate, if it is a proper forward facing camera they can trace you by your bike, leathers etc

Nope, they can't. There's a couple round here I set off pretty regularly whilst travelling towards them in the car. Never heard anything, I don't think they can calculate the speed properly.

Just to clarify, on the A49 (warrington road) coming out of wigan is a gatso on the other side of the road. There are markings on both sides of the road, and it's done me (in the car) from the other side of the road, so i'm going to lose my licence. What i need to know is will the prosecution stand up due to the parralax error?

3, but i only passed my test in august 2006 after doing my second cbt that july.

I was preparing to sell my 125 too, now i can't sell it till i pass a test again.

You were extremely unlucky, as GATSOs are generally not calibrated for oncoming traffic - I've been flashed by one on the Bristol Road in B'ham whilst oncoming and nothing has resulted from it.
Might be worth considering asking about it's calibration etc?
