After just reading poor Groovearmadas thread, I was wondering how quickly you all filter?
Personally, I wouldnt filter with a speed differential of more than 20mph over the traffic.
So if they are crawling, 20-25 for me. 30mph? 50 for me. Much more than 30, then I ask is there really a need for me to filter or am I just doing it for shits and giggles.
Obviously, its another one of these questions you cant really generalise as traffic, road and weather conditions play a massive part.. but... ____________________ Suzuki GSX-R750K4 ~ Mivv GP |

Watch this copper filtering north on the M5 to join the M6: link, personally I go a tad slower as I don't have the dayglow stripes 'n' lights. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

A favorite filtering clip. And I never do it at more than roughly 10mph above traffic speed. Think at anything more than 20 it becomes overtaking really. |

depends on the road, in resedinial, 30- 40 if theres ide turnings etc then like 20, on motorways 60 - 100+
like said depends on mood. ____________________ follow my racing season

Normally 10-20 mph.
However, on the way back from the NEC bike show last year I filtered at silly speeds on the M6. It was by the far the stupidest thing I've done on a bike but it sure was fun... ____________________ My Bikes: Piaggio NRG| Aprilia RS 125| Suzuki GSX-R 600|Yamaha Fazer Ducati 848

Usually about 40 where ever. Never slower than 30 unless stuck behind somone else. 9 out of 10 times they struggle to get through gaps you can get a bus in to though.
Fasted ive filtered is 140 or so, done a couple of 100mph wheelies filtering too
Never did that much though for obvious reasons. ____________________ || Past: 1991 Kawasaki ZXR 250 ~ 2003 Honda CBR 600 F Sport ~ 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R B1H 636 ~ 1999 Yamaha R1 ~ 1999 Kawasaki ZX6R J ~ 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R B1H 636 ~ 1998 Honda VTR1000F Firestorm ~ K1 GSXR 600 Track bike ~ K6 GSXR 1000 ~ 2006 Speed Triple 1050 || Current: 2005 R1 https://www.adrucore.co.uk |

i prefer filtering at speed, my morning commute on the bypass is generally at about 40mph where the cars are sitting at about 5-10mph, and then on the way home the traffic is at about 50-60 mph, and ill filter at around 90-130 depending on the weather and how the drivers are reacting to me.

About 20 mph faster than the traffic regardless of their speed. ____________________ My Flickr |

Well if my balls are particularly huge when I wake up one day, speed tends to be significantly higher than when I have the nuts of squirrel and reitterate to myself the consequences of a car door hurdle session
You get the idea. Alter speeds to conditions - there may well be a tool on a zx6R that shoots passed at 40mph, but to be first at the lights you must first finish Go progressive but steady basically. |
