hey guys just wanna get your opinion on this...

My YBR is pretty much new its got 500km's on the clock, but changing into 2nd is really rough and sometimes it just wont go into 2nd, im sure u can imagine how annoying this is in traffic, when this happens i just drop it back to 1st then up to 2nd, the change over is also very noisy and it feels as if my engine is gonna fall out the bottom of the bike for a second. I took the bike back to the place i bought it from and they say they can find nothing wrong with it...

please help

mate im yamaha factory trained and work at a dealer and i can honestly say hand on heart i have never once had a single problem with a ybr engine.

u sure your clutch is adjusted correctly? could be a nasty gear change if your not releasing the clutch properly

Another one for checking the clutch. I had trouble getting my bike into neutral and then into 2nd, then when i did it was noisy, untill i changed and adjusted my clutch cable, now its real quiet and easy Thumbs Up

also i sujest moving gear leaver down by a spline, i have several bikes and if they to high once i in first it can be a nightmare to get into second,

also as craig said check the clutch is in corectly and ajusted properly, if it not engaging properly it will sound rough while going through the gears,

i find that new bikes can suffer till they bed in only 500km on the clock it still bedding in my new bike has done 700km and it strugles to go into nutral but i can feel it getting better give it time to bed in properly

the YBR gearbox is naturally very clunky. I assume you mean by not going into 2nd you mean by slipping in to neutral. As my YBr has a tendency to do this. I find if i rev to about 7,000 the pull the clutch in and give it a sharp flick up itll go in. If im very soft with it it just slips into neutral. doesnt do this every time just on the odd occasions

Apart from that the ybr is a very solid bike. Although the rust issue im having atm its driving me nuts.
