got an alarm??
have you got a multi meter??
if so disconnect the battery and connect up the multi meter in siries (inline with the + on the battery) and select Amps and see if when the bike is off if it is drawing any current, if its not then its safe to say that you need a new battery, if it is, pull each fuse 1 at a time untill he current drops to 0 and then you'll see where the electrickery is going,
and then you are 1 step closer, Very Happy

Why are you having to charge it, is the bike not charging it anyway? As said sounds like the battery needs replacing.

is it lead/acid type? If so check the levels in each cell and make sure they are correct. It shouldn't be duff after a month unless its always been like it then you may have bought a duff one.

Have you checked the voltage with the engine running to make sure its being charged? Engine off . . 12-12.8v Engine running 13.8-15v

firstly, with the engine running, check the charge rate..this should be between approx 12.7volts and up to 14 volts, anything less, then you may have a charge/regulator fault.Make sure you check the charge with the lights on and the lights off.I would suspect with the symptoms you describe, the battery is knackered. If youre charging it,make sure you use a charger specified for motorbike batteries....a car charger is too high an output and will fry and buckle the plates inside if left on charge too long....use an optimate..good value at approx 30-40 quid.

I would still look at a suspect battery as the symptoms sound similar to mine!!new battery..no problem!! Karma

You will need a cheap test meter, to check the voltage.

They were probably going to do a drop test, that's not what you want.

This is what you need . . Clicky, you can get them from most car accessory stores.

I had the same problem with my 125 virago.

The regulator/rectifier needed changing initially, and then I had to buy a new battery after I experianced what you did. The wires under my seat were also in a right state (my neutral light going on when my key wasnt in, etc) so I got a guy to fix that up and ever since i've been smooooth sailin'
