BBC News wrote:
Road safety campaigners have condemned a motorcyclist who videoed himself travelling at 147mph and then posted the film on a popular website.

The video shows the biker speeding on the A27 between Shoreham, West Sussex, and Lewes, East Sussex, to the sound of an explicit rock song.

The bike weaves between vehicles and almost crashes into a car, with the speedometer visible throughout.

Sussex Police said that they were actively pursuing the matter.

Brigitte Chaudhry, founder of road safety charity Roadpeace, described the biker's behaviour as "idiotic".

It is a ludicrous piece of riding on a busy main road
Sgt Paul Masterson

"This video is not only irresponsible to other road users, but also highly stupid, and basically amounts to the person trying to commit suicide," she said.

The video, which was hosted on Youtube, has been taken down by the site's owners.

Sgt Paul Masterson, of Sussex Police's road policing unit, said they were treating the incident very seriously.

"We are hoping to identify this rider because it is a ludicrous piece of riding on a busy main road."

Come on, own up... who was it? Laughing

Stupid and Irresposible.

Why Video it and why show it on a public website?!?!? Come on use a bit of common sense and show it at home. £1 per viewing.

Seriously I don't understand speed to that extent, surly that's what track days are for.

Hmm....very profound Mac_Kaliba!

Personally I couldn't give a flying f*** about the guy/gal doing 147mph...but I do care about the poor innocent that inevitably ends up on the receiving end of his/her f****** stupidity.

BTW, Marines are pawns in the political games which the Government plays from time to time...surely that means you are co-operating with them anyway if you are thinking about joining them. Just a thought.

Meanwhile, some idiot kills his friends and other people by over taking on a blind summit... (was in the local news)

All very true... however, there were 2 bikers killed down my way by riding in a similar manner (part of a group that did this regular apparently...videos an wotnot) one went for the overtake at a ridiculous speed and met his mate coming the other way at an equally ridiculous speed..lets just say the police were picking body parts off the car that the biker was trying to over take.

We can argue all day about 'cars killing people' and 'no-one got killed or injured on this occasion' but as TOAST quite rightly says, if you want to ride at those speeds that's what track days are for.

Well I for one have never felt the need to video myself doing 147mph and post it on the internet.

In future I'm sure the person concerned will realise how grossly irreponsable their actions were and just leave their video recorder at home.

Yes SilverFox that is indeed very true, and I have thought allot about it, It is by far my biggest hypocrism, but its what I have set my heart on doing.
On the other hand I know for a fact that if the uk ever errupted into civil war and the goverment tried to use the military against its own people, I would be the first to make a stand and fight back in mutiny, and with all my training I would be a valuable asset.

On the speeding recklessly point, call me a wanker or whatever, but its my bike, I pay roadtax so I'm totally fine with people endagering their lives at excessive speed. Though I do slow down around built up residential areas but thats pretty much it.
If you don't like it, T-Bone me to get it over with quickly Laughing Middle Finger

There was a thing on the news recently, some woman was prone to being panicky, and ended up on a motorway.

She was caught by police doing 10mph.

That's 60mph less than what everyone else is doing.

She got a 7day ban!?!

If I was to do 130 mph (the equivalent of me doing 70mph and coming up to someone doing 10mph (if you understand me ? Laughing)) I'd probably have a 300 year ban, and be sodomised by Jesus himself.

I'm outraged that this video has been publicised in this fashion. What kind of message are we sending by allowing people to post videos of their crazed 147mph antics?

The should be a qualifying limit of 150mph before you can post a video of your crazed antics on t'interweb.

The stretch from the last set of traffic lights in Lancing to the start of Worthing. I understand you can get up to 154mph and beyond on that stretch. Especially in the sort of good weather we've had this week. Not that I'd condone that of course. Thumbs Up

Embarassed

Yeah, sorry lads, my bad.

I was testing out my NRG50 after I'd fitted it with a polini variator and the new SuperTurboExtremePower powerband.

What the BBC failed to mention was that on the video you can clearly see a police car doing 4,000mph cut me up on the wrong side of the road and nearly plough head-on into a bus full of children and kittens on a day trip to brighton.

Thumbs Up
