On my 04 R1 (under seat exhaust one) the choke is automatic which i hate with a passion (also i hate the fact i cant tun the lights off) and the choke complety turns off around 65oc

Is this the same for your bikes and will it damage the bike engine if i ride off at 40oc when the automatic choke is still on?

I ask this cos i know of alot of the new cars have automatic choke and you can drive off even when this is still on Confused

Just start it, get on and ride off. You wont do any damage to it what so ever.

Thumbs Up

It comes in the name automatic, I'm sure it's designed to run until a suitable time, obviously if it is feeling bogged down after warming up have a little look and see if it's still on. Apart from that there is no reason for you not to be able to jump on and ride. That is the point of it no?

You ride with a choke on to warm a bike up properly right? Well why not do that with an automatic choke?

It'll knock itself off surely?

Yep, soon as the pre-programmed temp is reached (programmed in the ECU) the choke will turn its self off.

Thumbs Up
