Quite a few of us here at uni from what i understand,
I can afford to ride a bike because i dont piss my money away on drink, i guess if you want something enough you make it happen right?
Plus i dont know about your uni but at mine its worth it alone to pass the endless lines of Punto's and Corsa's waiting to get through the security barriers into the carpark, i just slip through and park up right outside my lecturers for free, The when thats all finished tear off into the sunset passed all the suckas waiting at the bus-stop |

I'm in my second year.
I don't drink a hell of a lot, so I have money to piss away on bikes instead.
I've had a hornet, a mille and now just a hornet race bike since I've been at uni.
I live at home and commute to uni on the train, so I guess my out goings aren't as bad as some.
It's easy enough to go to uni and have a bike, you just need to sort your priorities and have some self control. ____________________ My Flickr |

What uni you going to?
I'm going back to Sheffield (hallam) for my final year but not gonna take the bike. There's nowhere for me to park it really and in sheff you don't need transport, just use the public services. Will certaintly miss it but wouldn't use it enough whilst at uni to warrant the effort of keeping it there. ____________________ Bike - '98 Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat Pics

City Centre, Uni Lad, R6 all spells disaster and tears. Leave your bike sorn for a year and keep it under cover at your folk's?
I'm in Lufbra, they have bike sheds where we can stash our bikes, I've always lived in student houses which had a gated entrance so quite often, it was locked and out of sight and even around the back, i had a cover and chain and alarm on.
Lufbra's all right since drinks are always on offer and they're always plenty cheap. You can easily get slaughtered on a tenna if you were up for it.
Luckily for me, the rolling hills of leicestershire and nottinghamshire are at my doorstep - we've got a "circuit" here, which is a loop from loughborough -> 6 hills -> hathern -> coloerton -> shepshed -> loughborugh which is all sweepers and straights. If i've got an hour 2 free after lectures, i do that run. In the summer, it's really therepeautic. There's also a uni bike club, so we used to get a few lads together at the end of the day and go for a blast - 30 miles or something.
I also do a lot of Lufbra -> London runs on a monthly basis, so it's certainly much cheaper and practical than a car. Because Lufbra is a campus uni with everything self contained, and my bike is rather loud, i get noticed A LOT, which is a good thing if you're a bit of an attention whore. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

really depends where your going, you might find you can park no problem, or no chance.
you could get yourself a cb500 or something and get something more shiney once your finished.
personally i'm 125in my way to uni and its FAR better, get there quicker and its almost free, i couldn't afford to go there if it was down to useing the buses, dispite the journey being 20minutes (15 with no traffic)

I'm at Exeter uni in my 2nd year. I'd say take your bike to uni, it's fairly unlikely that you won't be able to find a place to park it. If you can't stand the idea of leaving your R6 outside then as suggested think about getting an old shitter.
My halls last year even had a dedicated motorcycle shed! . This year I've got a house with a nice big paved back garden and a shed. I had 4 bikes in the garden at one time. ____________________ Chris
