Well yesterday i decided to lose a bit of weight off the back end, well to be exact chop my 5ft akropovic down to size Wink .

Photo of before.....

After removing the can, i decided to do the norm thing and rev the tits off it with out the can just to annoy the neighbors....... lovely ! Twisted Evil

This is the can removed from the bike and notice the "slight rash" from the end...... I should have bought that R+G can protecter before my track day.... Crying or Very sad

So the idea was to cut it down to where the marks are from the hanger as a guide and turn the end joint and strap around so its on the inside of the bike.....

After much drilling with my shakey drill...

Out pops the inners....

Sorry theres no photos of me cutting the can with the old angle grinder and cutting the baffle material..... I had loads of metal splinters in my hands and i was itching from all the packing crap ! Laughing

After cutting it all down to size and re-riveting back together this morning, i chucked the can back on.

Its alot louder Twisted Evil and fits better with the bike now imo, plus i've still got the removable baffle should i get stopped.
Also i decided to remove the pegs on both sides as i dont think a hanger would be needed.... (or do you think i should get a hanger for it ?)

Now for the twist Crying or Very sad (gutted Crying or Very sad )
After removing the said crap, i put my new road tax disk (as in i bought it saturday) on where the hugger is today.
Goes on a nice blat to aberdare to pick up a number plate led light and then pops down to cardiff and porthcawl with my brother, then back up to brecon for a cuppa with lozzypops and mates.

Gets back home......

Ahh crap ! Sad The blinking thing has either been snapped off or broken off.

Looks cracking mate, but I would stick some kinda strap on it to support the weight and keep it still otherwise it may cause the pipe to work loose on the joint to the downpipes.

Definately get something that will hold it up.

Even in Moto GP, with their ultra light cans, they have hangers.

If you leave it without one it will put more stress on the exhaust system.
