Another daft problem with my GN.
Recently ive noticed my front wheel has been giving me a bit of resistance and judging by the noise it was the brake pads that were doing it. Today I decided to pull everything to bits to see if cleaning it up would have any effect. Instead all I managed was to pump the brake piston out and now I cant get my pads and disc back in.
I looked on a brake pad changing site and it said all i needed was a screwdriver to push it back in, but I cant seem to make any impact.
Any ideas? On the sticky wheel aswell if you can think of anything.

. While the caliper is off does the wheel spin OK, if it does the you have the problem in your hand. Your caliper piston is sticking hence it won't go back in, you'll need to loosen the bleed bolt/nipple, get the pads out and give it a bloody good clean (get proper caliper cleaner). Is the piston/s bad with rust or still shiny crome. if their crome you should be able to work them back and forward to loosen them off. re-bleed brakes should solve prob. If the wheels still stiff with the brake off must be the bearings

Loosen the cap on the brake res on the handlebars.

Get something like a G clamp. Bit of wood over the piston (to protect it) on the brake and gently squeze it back in.
If its fully in bits i would get a seal kit and replace the old one's. As its the seals that tend to expand and cause the major problems.

Get some new seals while the piston is out and clean in the recess where they sit. Corrosion can build up in there and push the seal onto the piston making it very hard to push back into the caliper.
