they're good for nipping around town, get to 50 mph easily but struggle a bit more to get to 60, not too good for out of town riding though
I believe the bike isn't restricted and the best route is to do your test and get a bigger bike if your after more performance. Otherwise it's a great first bike (for me anyway)
downsides:-Having people carriers tail gating me going up the Mountain road and then having the guts to point towards the hedge ____________________ Too Fast For Even The Plod To Keep Up With |

wouldnt say no to a cityfly, beats a scoot for gettin to work and gettin around town, however, its still well overpriced, and isnt worth the extra over the CG, so given a choice id buy the CG and save the extra cash
good bikes though, and yes the city fly has overhead cams, so thats gotta be the XLR lump not the CG, but as was said: performance is the same
having said that, with the mention of scoots, the italjet 125 that has 2 cylinders is sposed to be good for 80mph so id have one of those ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

hi,
the city fly has the same engine as the xlr trialie, 11.3 hp and flat out at 60 mph due to the upright riding position, given the choice i would go for an xlr , which i did to commute to work for three years in all weathers, with no hassle or breakdowns whatsoever, i would also say that the xlr would have a better resale value , mine dropped only 500 quid from purchase as an ex demo with 120 miles on the clock to trade in 3 yrs later with 20k on the speedo. the clr was/is based on the 650 vigor which didnt sell at all well, the clr styling is a bit staid, having said that it should make a reliable commuter bike as long as you change the oil as per handbook,
every 1250 miles, (theres no actual oil tank, so it keeps mashing the same oil 'til you change it.
cheers
